PRESENT
The Something Awesome Project provides an online and offline safe
haven where GLBTQ individuals may connect with their peers. We
boast a dynamic online social networking scene, plan exciting and
enriching events for GLBTQ
youth and
adults and will soon feature an interactive advice column! Stay
tuned!

FUTURE
We have big plans for The Something Awesome Project and we hope
you'll join us for the ride! Our long term goals include:
Somewhere Awesome: We will establish a community center,
providing all GLBTQ teens and adults fun and safe place to spend
their time and connect with their peers. We have hopes of securing
a building which will offer:
- A coffee shop, which will allow the Project to maintain a
degree of self-sufficiency
- Quiet areas and conference rooms to work on homework and
projects
- Common areas to hang out with friends, watch TV and play
games
- A computer lab, library and kitchen
- Space for live performances (art, music, poetry, open mic
nights, you name it!)
Someone Awesome: We will design a mentoring program that
will enrich the lives of the youth it serves. As we develop, we
will be able to implement a program which will pair each GLBTQ
youth in need with a mentor who can relate to the student based on
shared experiences, values and goals. In their mentors, students
will find a friend, someone to talk to and a positive role
model.
Something Awesome: We will develop a scholarship fund to
award money to GLBTQ high school seniors who plan to enroll in
higher education study.
